i had a well spent saturday...2/7/05, urban infest at orchard. Thankew may, mavis, lydia, ruth. it was soo nice participating in it, partly becos i loved the balloons...but more importantly, it was nice...so nice ...being able to spend time with u all. really liked that saturday, so much so that i got home feeling sad that it was over. lemme narrate wat happened on that wonderful day so that i can remember some of the 'highlights' of the day...and that these memories will never fade when things are recorded here.
met may and ruth at seranggon mrt. may was first...then we waited for ruth to make her grand arrival by train. off to OP centre, opp cine. we registered and got our shirts :) waited and waited for the briefing to start but was told we could go for lunch first. lydia kept bugging for famous amos cookies but never got them till quite some time later. kk, went to heeren cos some pple wanted to buy cds...haha! and two out of the four who were 'less interested' in cds went to stone outside hmv. then we went up to other shops at heeren. never got to ate lunch when we were sppose to. then we went bk to the reporting booth and got those bkmarks/papers/BALLOONS! and ....zoom...off we went to shaw hse to start on mission possible. after a while...we went to 'recharge' ourselves. i'm sure u gals will know wat i mean, and how good we were at recharging ourselves...it was till then that mavis joined us. and then it was time to start work again when...when may got a call .hahaha. it was so "exciting" as i told mavis, when we were led by may to go on a SPECIAL ROUTE out to the place where two gals delivered water to us. Since bkmarks and balloons were running out, balloon-loving mavis and maryann walked all the way bk from shaw to cine to get more supplies while the rest...slacked? heehee, was just told that they visited borders., oh supposedly "looking round a little" (quoted form may :P) . poor balloon deliverers were surrounded by many balloon-lovers along the way and they gave out many many balloons...till the two bunches of balloons in their hands could be counted by one hand. maivs led maryann the wrong way and went to wisma instead...when they were suppose to return to shaw. in the end, we had ONE balloon left when we met may,ruth and lyd at wheelocks. ok....this is really quite long-winded. we went bk to cine as a grp and took many many balloons...and gave them along the way...from outside mandarin to ngee ann city. oh! we realeased a balloon while resting outside the pinkish brown building. That was such a special balloon....cos i dotted its string purple in hope that i will recognise it IF i ever get to see it coming down frm the sky someday. our names were written on the balloon by me :) i had our names surrounding two hearts while artistic mavis wrote "friends forever 409, 2004" on it. Off that orange balloon went up the sky while we took pics of it. too bad tt special "liberation of balloon" moment couldnt be captured on video. kk, then the grp walked bk to cine and waited for to be released. we just loitered arnd and helped to move chairs and tables when clearing up was done. after being dismissed, we went to cine and met more 409ners (yii wen/qien/sherry/zhihui/woonli) for dinner consisiting of baked rice/choc-rich cake etc. [kk, i know i'm a slow blogger and may is rushing me to finish it so tt she can read this b4 she slps]
ok so....we left for home/urban infest nite performance in two grps. thankew once again to may, mavis, ruth, lyd for making my day.
yawn...ok, that's a rough outline of wat took place k? hey, if i left our anything impt, u add it in :)
and today was yet another well spent sunday playing bridge with 2Ms and sy. i love our bridge sessions! with lots of junk included :P
