Its only 3 more hours to 2006 and its weird to think that yet another year is gone, just like that. Its all so fast.

2006. I keep making resolutions at the beginning of each year and failing to keep them. Every year, its like you're starting anew, and for a short period of time you manage to keep to them. Then as the time goes along, you just fall back and everything gets messed up again.

Remember this comic strip? Where there was this guy making a new years resolution: "I resolve to stick to my new year's resolution".

Maybe thats the first resolution I've got to make?

Apart from that, I also shall resolve to be more appreciative and not to waste precious time.

Time will tell if I keep my resolutions.

Happy New Year!!

i wanna be the first to say Happy New Year here! hahaha...

happy 2006. let's write some resolutions for the new year.

i've seen some of yr tags. let's moveee on rite? i am trying to ok.
i dont want to look bk and regret not cherishing this and next yr. perhaps we shld all start treasuring every moment so we wont look bk and sigh. ahhhh this is coming from me?! ...
yup, next yr is gg to be our last year in school. i mean thereafter, school might not be the same anymore.

that's just one of my new yr resolution.
the rest? i'm keeping it for next time...when i sort things out first.

I'm too tired to write much so this shall be a brief outline of sakae. Appealing to someone out there to blog about yesterday too.

Sakae Sushi outing. Lydia didn't go and left me to make all the excuses for her.
-______-"
Not that it was her fault that she ate bad food yesterday but we havnen't seen her in eons and eons. Tsk. Thankfully, lyd's feeling much better now, so thats good! Next time we plan an outing with you, you're staying home the day before; no funny business.

I have a conclusion to make: Sakae sushi at J8 is better than the one at Wheelock. At least they serve you complimentary tea and the computer really works.

But outing was great! I don't think the people liked us very much. We're part of notorious nineisnoisy after all. And they should be glad that there were just 6 of us: yiiwen, maryann, ruth, suejen, mavis and me. Haha.

Wanted to take pictures of the table after first hour, second hour and third hour but waitress cleared it all away due to shortage of plate. Seriously, there weren't that many plates at the end of the first hour. Only, oh, about 30. :)

Don' t think most of us had our fill of food, though we certainly had our fill of tea. I blame the "I never" game. Ruth gets crowned queen of the game. :)

After all that, took a little walk around in the hopes of feeling less bloated, although by the time I left, I was feeling rather hungry already.
I hate my metabolic rate. Why doesn't it work faster?

Found pictures of the menu online! Sakae sushi actually has its own webbie. I'll leave maryann to post the pictures we took. http://www.sakaesushi.com.sg

Anyway, it was definitely great fun! We'll scrounge around for a better place with better food that satisfies us more and lets do it again!

Your fellow cookie sushi eater,
May

may's too lazy to put up a nice sms we all got from sy today, so i shall do it. haha just jk.

*to e tune of jinglealltheway!!*
jingle bells! 4/9 gals! recall e good old days.. thru all breaks we sat together, n talked rubbish all day HEY!! jingle bells! SY yells!! i'm missing everyone..hope all's well n do take care, haf a joyful christmas day!!!

-by sheeyin-

thankew the great lyrics-writer! tt made my christmas day.

it just brought bk some really nice memories of 409. and while i was packing my room some time bk and seeing our 409 timetable,i missed even those long days where i used to feel so restless! i remember there;s this particular day where we had chem PRAC b4 either lunch or recess...i hated pracs u know. we had to wash our hands real clean b4 gg off to eat. i still dislike pracs...but pracs in the past are more pleasant than pracs now i think. at least i get to sit with "tian cai yi hao" and "er hao"...hmm who;s who. oh! i just realised 2 out of 3 other midnitecookiers were my prac bench mates!!!

back to packing my room that day. then i saw the farewell booklet we all got from prom nite. ms leow wrote 409 a farewell msg. i guess i've never really read it properly. when i read it again tt day, it evoked so much more feelings. it was tt afternoon when i REALLY wanted to return to those good old days (ok honestly not all were GOOD, but i do miss them-some probs we fuss abt in the past may not have mattered anymore now). n i remember mrs deb tan telling us how past batches' graduates wld say the 4 yrs they spent there r the best moments of their lives. i never really truly understood or felt what she said but i did tt afternoon and i do now. and its that afternoon that i realised how IMPOSSIBLE it is to experience those sch times again. tsk i do miss the all girls environment u know. n its not just any girls. its u pple. our classroom was so cold, but there was always the warmth from the pple arnd us. haha of cos not forgetting how snugly some cushions come into the picture. pple like SY wld be in dreamland at the last row! heehee sry.

awww have i drifted too far away. was suppose to safekeep SY's lyrics here. heee, okie tt's all for now.

still my favourite place to blog,
maryann

hi everyone i'm back! just came back this morning. missed all of you over there.

switzerland was beautiful in the mountain ranges but your feet literally freeze if you wear a certain pair of red shoes and ankle socks up there. it hurts too when it freezes. but it's worth it for the experience of being up in a snow mountain walking on powdery snow and watching ppl ski.

oh and i have a cuckoo clock in my living room now! :) it's been ages since we last changed the clock so tt's good. and i got you ppl something from switzerland. it's a very small thing and it's silly and completely useless and not related to switzerland at all so i hope you don't mind. don't say i didn't warn you. :)

okay sushi outing is def on on wed! absences will only be excused with mc. can't wait.

I Run for Life - Melissa Etheridge

It's been years since they told her about it
The darkness her body possessed
And the scars are still there in the mirror
Everyday that she gets herself dressed
Though the pain is miles and miles behind her
And the fear is now a docile beast
If you ask her why she is still running
She'll tell you it makes her complete

[Chorus:]
I run for hope
I run to feel
I run for the truth
For all that is real
I run for your mother your sister your wife
I run for you and me my friend I run for life

It's a blur since they told me about it
How the darkness had taken its toll
And they cut into my skin and they cut into my body
But they will never get a piece of my soul
And now I'm still learning the lesson
To waken when I hear the call
And if you ask me why I am still running
I'll tell you I run for us all

[Chorus]

And someday if they tell you about it
If the darkness knocks on your door
Remember her remember me
We will be running as we have before
Running for answers
Running for more

Enjoying the hols now more 'cause my attachment is only part-time n trg has breaked for hols. Been shopping for 3 consecutive days. Hard-core! Anyway, watched Ophrah on Sunday night 'cause i happened to switch to starworld. Hm no matter what pple say abt it being sappy.. it's actually not bad. Melissa Etheridge's a breast cancer survivor and she performed this song at the end of the show. Touching lyrics... Must go check out the song ya!

5 days to Christmas! x)

So I'm back. Sure feels weird to be back, sort of like feelings of regret mingled with relief.

Its been strange being cut off from the world that you know and returning to find that some things have happened without your knowing. You can't imagine how weird it is when I switched on my phone in Perth and got messages from people back here -- its like leading a different life. No worries about anything when you're on a trip. Haha.
This is rather random but I'm rather facinated by the fact that at one point of time, the 4 of us were at different corners of the world.

Enjoyed my stay down under very much and have come back a wiser person in many ways. Its not as profound as it sounds but really... I've learnt never to take things for granted -- summer doesn't necessarily mean hot weather. Packed a luggage full of beachwear to be greeted by 15degC weather.
-_____-"
And I also learnt to appreciate home more. Cheap and good food is almost extinct in Australia.

Thats all I've to offer for now. Brain isn't functioning well enough to say anything more profound due to severe disuse.

Anyway, its definitely good to be back. :)
But having said that, I can't wait to go on another trip. And yes, I missed all you people.

Funny title eh? To be completely honest, I've come to be quite attached to my attachment friends and today being the last day for many of them, leaves me a little sad. It's not the sad kind of sadness but the bitter sweet one though, if you know what i mean. For my partner and me, we've foolishly extended our attachment to the end of the hols... We do feel very cheated honestly but since there's nthg we can do now, we'll just have to take this as a learning experience.

I've realised how insulated we sometimes are from society. Maybe we really are unaware of what people think of us. Isn't that we you would call elitist?

Have fun on your holidays, my cookie friends! I miss you all very much.

Been thinking about my life now and then. Especially during solitary train rides home. I love this poem "without you". It says so beautifully so much... I know thinking has a tendency of making me depressed and I hate to feel low. But still i think if i stop thinking just for fear of opening a pandora's box, it would be terribly sad. I would rather risk than not to try at all. I don't want to be a cynic. I want to love, to treasure, to feel, to be.

I choose happiness.

Lydia

Hey.

I think I shall next be talking to most of you on the 17th at the earliest, so I'm here to tell you to take care and enjoy whats left of your precious holidays.

To wish Yiiwen and Maryann enjoyable trips. To tell dear lyd to take a break from attachment and training some times.

And I'll resume plans for sushi outing as fast as possible.
Hopefully we'll be able to meet up before the holidays are over. :)

i am a TOILET SURVEYOR. :)

it's been a tough job the past two days. mainly bcos ppl dont want to be interviewed or cos they dont wish to give out their contact nos. oh and the bright orange lanyard doesnt help. the partner can get quite irritating too. haha.

but when you can get ppl to talk you get interesting characters emerging. like the extra talkative cabbie who claims to have emailed nea abt how to improve public toilets. the cleaner auntie who revealed tt the only pay she gets is the 10 cents she collects from the toilet users. the ah pek who stole all the 10 cent coins from the collection table cos no one was manning it.

it's these ppl tt keep my interest in the job. they make up for the wasted trips, wrong transfers, non-existing places blah blah. hopefully i meet more colourful characters nxt wk. and hopefully everything goes more smoothly then i can afford tt cute swatch with the pink thing ard it. (it's cute ok!)

yay i've shared my work ex how abt slug? hint hint dont be lazy :)
