being a fairy is very tough work. really.

especially being a make a wish foundation fairy. we were supposed to promote the 'stories of light campaign' while wearing a fairy costume (make a wish t-shirt, pink tutu, glittery tiara, pink and glittery wings and silver wand) in wisma atria. suddenly fairies became the thing to shun as people started maneouvring ard us (no easy job given the huge wings) and positively running away. then of course there are the ones who take one look at us and laugh their heads off. there was this man who did just that, only to return later to offer me $2 cos he felt bad.

but luckily for all the baddies out there there are a few kind souls :) it doesn't matter of you don't wish to donate you know. you can just listen patiently or decline nicely. there was one who said 'no thanks' before adding with a smile, 'but you're really cute!' and there was a cute little girl who came up to me with a dollar and asked for a sticker. there were also a precious few who said 'thank you' after i'd explained the campaign to them.

ok since i'm on this issue let me do some promoting here. :) read on!

the make a wish foundation helps to fulfil the wishes of children with life-threatening diseases. it is fully funded by public donations. the recently-launched stories of light campaign aims to raise funds through getting people to sponsor the musical notes of the 'make a wish' song. Each note is $20 to sponsor, each bar $100 and each 'star lyric' $2000. However donations of any amt are also welcome. details can be found on www.makeawish.org.sg/light or alternatively just ask me!

hey do a bit of charity this hols and seriously consider this campaign yeah? support the little children and the fairies!
