It is always a joy to read all your posts.
I seem to be rather emotional lately though I have no idea why. I cried during Singapore Dreaming, In America and even while watching films like 13 going on 30 and Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants. I just felt so strangely moved... And by the way, I do agree that we should support Colin Goh!! Singapore Dreaming is by far the best local production I've seen. Accurate yet not cliche, talks about the dreams, expectations that we face... something we can identify with put forth in a subtle way. I like it immensely.

Did any of you watch In America? I missed the first 20 min of it 'cause I was finishing another movie. but what I did catch was brilliant. Excellent casting, moving dialogues and voice-overs... many, many thought-provoking scenes.

The movies and books I've seen and read in the past few days seem to have had a significant emotional impact on me. I can't explain why. Maybe I've realised that the mundane makes up so much of our lives. it's confusing.

In travelling pants, one of the leads say that she admires how T. and A. could take risks and open themselves to love even though they've experienced such great losses and she, who has never experienced any such loss, could not. Perhaps that is my fear too.

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
You been out ridin' fences for so long now
Oh, you're a hard one
But I know that you've got your reasons
These things that are pleasin' you
Can hurt you somehow

Don't you draw the queen of diamonds boy
She'll beat you if she's able
No, the queen of hearts is always your best bet

Now it seems to me, some fine things
Have been laid upon your table
But you only want the ones you can't get

Desperado, oh, you ain't gettin' no younger
Your pain and your hunger, they've drivin' you home
And freedom, oh freedom well, that's just some people talkin'
Your prison is walking through this world all alone

Don't your feet get cold in the winter time?
The sky won't snow and the sun won't shine
It's hard to tell the night time from the day
You're losin' all your highs and lows
Ain't it funny how the feeling goes away?
Desperado, why don't you come to your senses?
Come down from your fences, and open the gate
It may be rainin', but there's a rainbow above you
You better let somebody love you
(let sombody love you)
You better let somebody love you
before it's too late
