WE BEAT CAL!

yeahhhhh! first time in five years! 20-13! i got super excited yesterday at the big game even though i'm not a football fan. for the first time ever i went hoarse cheering for my school! and rushed the field after the game ended!

ok a bit of explanation here: Big Game is an annual american football match between Stanford and Berkeley, and there's a huge rivalry between the two schools. so i bought my first "cal sucks" shirt and helped paint a "cal football sucks!" banner for my dorm. it's hanging prettily outside now. the "claw" fountain has a teddy bear (cal's mascot) spiked on it, the one outside mem aud was turned flourescent pink (cos you can't really turn water red tastefully), a big "beat cal" banner obscured meyer library's facade and the hoover tower was lit up in red the past week.

side note: i seem to have very housewifely hobbies - have been going grocery shopping the past two weeks, and i think it's fun exploring supermarkets! discovered trader joe's on friday, an awesome organic and health food place. i love their ginger almond and cashew granola. and also realised that there's a daiso which just opened opposite trader joe's, as well as a gigantic whole foods opposite wal-mart. looks like i'll be back real soon. (:
