you know it's crunch time when the nightly screaming starts at 12 midnight, monday to friday, otherwise known as the primal scream.

but the week wasn't that bad for me. today, i took a break from marathon PWR paper writing to give free hugs to random passersby in the white plaza during lunchtime, with a couple of my dorm mates. i made a sign from a cardboard box that used to contain my aerosoles sandals. said box now has a penguin on it, saying "free hugs" in a speech bubble. three of us, plus Ross, the RF, went to white plaza at 12+pm and more of my dorm mates joined us later on. i think we were 6-strong at one point. it was nice shouting "free hugs!" at people cycling or walking past, and observing their reactions. we stayed till 1.30pm, and i think i hugged about 25 people. that was a fun study break. i don't think i smiled so much all week.

the next highlight was receiving an email in the middle of paper writing, telling me that i'd been selected to go on the UK Shakespeare overseas sem! it's a three-week program in summer, right before fall quarter starts. i'll be watching lots of shakespeare plays and discussing them with my peers and maybe the directors, and coming up with our own production of part of a Shakespeare play. it's going to be an intense three weeks, and i can't wait.

study break number two was cupcake decorating in the lounge! my wonderful dorm staff came up with the idea, so Alice, the RWT, baked 40-odd cupcakes and people decorated cupcakes using frosting. i drew a rainbow on mine, and put rainbow sprinkles on. pity my camera's batteries went dead before i could take a photo.

hectic few days, and more to come. wednesday can't come soon enough.
